
Maple Syrup Unemployed Pudding

Ingredients:

For the cake:
- 250 g all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- 125 g softened butter
- 150 g sugar
- 2 eggs
- 125 ml of milk

For the syrup:
- 250 ml of pure maple syrup
- 250 ml of 35% cream
- 125 ml of water
- 50 g butter
Instructions:

Prepare the Syrup:
- In a saucepan, combine maple syrup, cream, water and butter. Heat over medium heat until butter is melted and mixture begins to simmer. Set aside.

Prepare the Cake Dough:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Butter a baking dish of approximately 20 cm x 20 cm.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar until creamy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Add the dry ingredients alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.

Assemble and Cook:
- Pour the cake batter into the prepared dish and smooth the surface.
- Slowly pour the hot syrup over the dough. Do not mix.
- Bake for about 40 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and the syrup is bubbling around it.

Serve:
- Serve warm, straight from the dish, with a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra touch.
