Spiced Pear Tart with Maple Syrup
Ingredients:
- 1 ready-made or homemade shortcrust pastry
- 3-4 ripe pears, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
- 50 ml maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 30 g of brown sugar
- 30 g cold butter, cut into small cubes
- 50 g chopped walnuts (optional)
- Whipped cream for serving
Instructions:

Prepare the dough:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Spread the dough in a pie dish, prick the bottom with a fork and set aside in the refrigerator.

Prepare the Pears:
- In a large bowl, toss the pear slices with the maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar until the pears are well coated.

Assemble the Pie:
- Arrange the pear slices in a spiral on the tart base. Spread the small cubes of butter over the pears.
- Sprinkle with chopped nuts if using.

- Bake for 40-45 minutes, until the pastry is golden and the pears are tender.
